Kidney and urinary tract
The sonographic examination of the kidneys and urinary bladder allows the exclusion of malformations or congenital kidney diseases in newborns and infants and is also offered as an optional service in the first year of life. Sonography can also be used to detect structural anomalies in case of urinary tract infections and initiate professional treatment.
Abdomen
We offer a comprehensive ultrasound examination of the abdomen for chronic abdominal pain, failure to thrive and suspected specific diseases of the liver, gallbladder, spleen and intestines. At the request of families, this examination can also be arranged as a supplement to the statutory preventive check-ups.
Infant hip
Screening for congenital hip dysplasia is planned for all infants as part of the U3 (4th to 5th week of life). Over 10% of hip replacements in 50-year-olds are due to congenital hip dysplasia. This so-called pre-arthrosis can be reliably diagnosed in the first weeks of life using sonography.
Thyroid gland
As part of the J1 and J2 examination, we offer comprehensive screening of thyroid function. Basic diagnostics with blood tests for thyroid hormones can be completed by an ultrasound examination. A thyroid examination is also useful for growth disorders, obesity and sleep and concentration disorders.
Brain
The open fontanel of newborns and infants enables accurate sonographic visualisation of the brain. As a result, malformations, infections during pregnancy and birth-related complications can often be diagnosed and monitored without radiation exposure.
Joints, lymph nodes, soft tissue
Ultrasound is one of the most important diagnostic tools for painful joints and lymph node swelling. In many cases, this technique allows us to make a reliable diagnosis and evaluate the response to therapy over the course of treatment.
